When you’re planning to move in the New Year, you need to be as organized and plan as much as possible.
Here are a few things to consider when moving.
Research
You need to plan whether you’re going to hire a mover to help take your things to the new home or if you’ll rent out a van to do it yourself. This comes down to how much stuff you’re taking if you’re legally allowed to drive a van and your budget.
Also, figure out how busy they are during this time and schedule the mover as early as possible, so you don’t lose out. They all offer different services so make sure you investigate what they can do and pick the right company.
Pack Early
If you’re moving in the new year it might be best to start decluttering and packing things up early. Moving to a new home can be overwhelming and unforeseen issues can arise. It’s better to be prepared than to start having to rush and feel stressed.
Packing from about a month before is enough time to declutter and sort through want you want to keep.
Schedule
Moving is a long and stressful process. Managing your time and planning things can save you loads of time and put things into perspective. You should schedule what days you can pack things up, what emails or paperwork need to send, when have you hired your mover? And keep mind the day you’ll actually be moving and make sure you have everything in place.
Ask for Help
Moving takes a lot of effort for just one person. If you feel yourself feeling overrun and worn out, ask for help. As your moving date gets closer get your family involved to get things moving quicker.
Most Importantly RELAX
You may not have a lot of time till you move but you shouldn’t let things stress you out. If you feel overwhelmed, you should just take a break and step back a little. Also, moving is an exciting and joyous time enjoy it.
